Originally reported by BBCNews, Leicestershire Police department has issued an operational hijab for Muslim women who want to join the police force. The execution will go into play in New Zealand first. Although they will be the 1st to implement the new design, they will be accompanied by "...the Metropolitan Police, North Yorkshire Police and Police Scotland..."
BBC.com also reports the hijab will be equipped with security precautions in the event it is grabbed. It comes with an emergency clip to allow it to come off easily should such an occurrence takes place. The hope is more muslim women join law enforcement and feel safe.
